He was predeceased by : his parent Reintsje Westra Post; his wives, Jeanette Elgersma Post (Jaitske) and Shirley DeVries Bouma (Sjoukje) of Sarnia, Ontario.; his daughter Christine; his son-in-law David Schuringa; his grandson Jacob Schuringa; his siblings, Piter Post, Marieke Vreugdenhil, Aly Wiersma and Anneke Slotboom; and his siblings-in-law, Adrian Vreugdenhil, Tsjipke Wiersma, Jack Appel, Willem Elgersma, Douwe Elgersma, Johannes Breeuwsma, Ame DeVries, Marike Westra Post, Tjet Breeuwsma, Griet Wesselius, Joukje DeVries, Doet Elgersma and Janna Elgersma.

He is survived by : his children, Judy Van Hoff (Bob) of Floyd Knobs, Indiana, Rena Post of Toronto, Ontario, Grace Bradford (Jonathan) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mary Schuringa (late David) of Byron Center, Michigan, Theda McBryde (Malcolm) of Detroit, Michigan, Arlene Van Kley (David) of Gwinn, Michigan, Jo Ann Cunningham (Richard) of DeMotte, Indiana, Anita Post Blom (Stanley) of South Bend, Indiana, Jerald Post (Mary) of Oak Park, Illinois and Karen Malestein (Steve) of Radcliff, Kentucky.; his stepchildren, Ann Schuurmans (Wouter), Bill Bouma (Denise) of Wyoming, Ontario and Reinder Bouma (Pam) of Sarnia, Ontario.; his siblings, Arendsje Appel (Audrey) of Ferndale, Washington and Jint Post (Geertsje) of Crystal, Michigan; and his siblings-in-law, Aart Slotboom, Sjouke Elgersma (Atje), Oene Elgersma (Anna) and Akke Van (Aalt). He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
