He was predeceased by: his parents, William Huitema and Jeanette Huitema; his sisters, Ruth Roerig and Esther Monte; and his grandson Jessee Fortin.

He is survived by: his wife Judy; his sons, Jason Huitema (Jen) and Kevin Huitema (Danielle); his grandchildren, Tiffany Meyer, Victoria Day (Eric), Kylie Huitema (Jack) and Alec Huitema (Daysi); his great grandchildren, Rya Rodgers, Solveigh Kruse, Evihn DeJonge, Sylus Day and Cooper Day; and his caregivers, Maddie, Michelle, Ally, Aaron and Bill.
