He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Kuhn and Mary Jung; his wife Helen Smith; his grandson John Eric; and his sisters, Francie and Mary "Menchie" Fye.

He is survived by: his children, Paul (Vicki), David (Holly), Anne Swartz (Don), Larry (Sue), Brian (Kris), John (Jackie), James and Robert (Kelley).
