He was predeceased by: his parents, Urho Kilpela and Alice Cardinal. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Kilpela; his children, Ryan Kilpela of Iron Mountain, James Kilpela and Mary Jo Kilpela; his granddaughter Mindy; and his siblings, Norman Kilpela (Mary Ann Kilpela), John, David, Ardell Kilpela, Betty and Mary Ann.
A graveside service was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Cemetery Park (1025 Carpenter Ave, Iron Mountain, MI 49801).
