He is survived by: his children, Adam Gerhard (Miranda), Abby Poss (Tristan), Nathan Gerhard (Makayla Meise) and Charles Gerhard (Faith Bal); his sisters, Beth Coburn (Milan), Susan Saholt (Jeffrey) and Judy Ryan (Daniel); and the mother of his children Barbara Crispigna-Scheibe. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
