He was predeceased by : his parents, Emil Baron and Esther Baron (Freberg); and his siblings, Robert, Carl, James, Thomas and Betty Oberlander.

He is survived by : his wife LaVerne Johnson; his children, Amy Maffesanti (James) and Bradley; his sister-in-law Polly Baron; and his grandson Lee Maffesanti. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
