Ruth J. Nelson Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth J. Nelson of Ironwood, Michigan, who passed away on June 19, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Suliin and Hulda Suliin (Mackey); her husband Adolph Nelson of Paul's Lutheran Church; her siblings, Shirley Mae Suliin, Arlene Palojarvi (John "Gibby") and Reino Suliin (Darlene); her stepmother Helen Suliin; and her brothers-in-law, LeRoy Nelson, Richard Niemi, Donald Niemi and Dennis Tervo.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Nelson (Ella Lemire) and Karen Gullan (Gerald) of Ironwood; her grandchildren, Jessica Piasecki (Brian) and Michael Gullan (Samantha Ruso); and her brothers-in-law, Raymond Nelson (Carol) and Delmar Tervo (Lorraine). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church (100 W Midland Ave, Ironwood, MI 49938). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Riverside Cemetery.
