She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Hill and Hulda Hill (Hakala); her siblings, Gail Heikkinen and Danny Hill; and her niece Jennifer Newland.

She is survived by: her husband Bob Bess of Ishpeming Township; her sons, Corey Gilmore of Iron Mountain and Ben Gilmore of Marquette; and her brothers, Mike Hill (Luann Hebert) of Baraga and Glenn Hill of Baraga. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
