He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Hayes and Bernice Hayes (Durfee); his wife Sharon Kay Hoffer; his son Scott; his in-laws, Harley and Dorothy Hoffer; and his siblings, Vincent Hayes, Carol Boyle, Lois Lott-Sherwood, Freeda Brownridge, Laurel Kaye Husted and Terry Hayes.

He is survived by: his children, Troy Hayes (Kimberly), Julie Hayes and Laurie Little; his grandchildren, Cameron, Kaitlyn (Holden), Emilee, Mary, Andrew and Alexander (Kymberlyn); his siblings, Rosalie Davis and Richard Hayes (Cathy); and his brother-in-law Miles Hoffer (Pat).
