We announce the death of Mary Katherine Cooper of Ithaca, Michigan, who passed away on October 1, 2026, at the age of 77. She was predeceased by: her parents, Duane Pendell and Bertha Pendell; and her sister Beverly Balcolm. She is also survived by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Smith Family Funeral Homes (1333 E Center St, Ithaca, MI 48847). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at the Chapel Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ithaca Senior Center or Gratiot County Commission on Aging.
