He is survived by : his parents, Deb Atkinson and Al Atkinson; his brother Miles; his grandparents, Marge and Earl Tomlinson; his aunts and uncles, Dort, Scott Cornell, Meme, Joe Barden, Mark, Rachelle Tomlinson and Katie Atkinson; and his friend Spence.

Contributions in memory of Spence are welcome and will support ongoing scholarships for children to attend Zookambi summer camp at Potter Park Zoo.
