It is with sadness that the passing of Donald Mercer of Jackson, Michigan is shared. Donald, born on February 24, 1933, passed away on August 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Donald will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Donald by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Donald is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Donald’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva Jack Mercer and Olive Mercer (Barber); and his grandson Benjamin Jacob Mercer. He is survived by: his wife Bertha Mercer (Russell); and his children, Don, Rebecca Mercer (Stoller), Mike, Denyce Dean (Mercer), Ken and Marie Jalali (Mercer). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Arbor Church (120 E Main St, Spring Arbor, MI 49283). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at the Spring Arbor Cemetery.
