He was predeceased by: his parents, William F. Elfring and Carrie M. Elfring; his wife Ruth; his children-in-law, Carol Elfring and Ronald DeVos; and his siblings, Lillian, Eleanor, Connie, Cornelia, Beverly, Carl and William "Bud".
He is survived by: his children, Carol DeVos of Fort Worth, TX, Dr. Herbert "Hub" J. Elfring, Jr. of Linden, John Elfring (Jackie) of Texas, Barbara Eaton (Kenny) of Florida and Richard Elfring (Cheryl) of Laingsburg; his grandchildren, Sara, Kiley, Kenneth III, Keri, Leigh Anne, Blake, Claire and Grace; his great grandchildren, Josh, Zach, CeCe, Luke, Bradley III, Leonie, Chiara, Ramsey and Hudson; and his brother Bob Elfring (Shirley). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
