She was predeceased by: her parents, John J. Ploch and Blanch Ploch (Gryczko); and her daughter-in-law Barbara J. Alexander (Richardson) of Kalamazoo. She is survived by: her sons, Charles B. Alexander of Kalamazoo and David J. Alexander of Muskegon; her daughter-in-law Margaret "Peg" Alexander (Cummings) of Muskegon; her grandchildren, Jeffery Alexander of Grand Haven and Kimberly Ritter (Brad) of Kalamazoo; her sister Delores Finger; her nibling Stacey Lange of Jackson; her great grandchildren, Aiden Alexander, Graham Ritter and Eliza Ritter; and her husband Walter of John's Catholic Cemetery. She is also survived by three nieces and a nephew along with her best friend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Queen's Church or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, as Irene was a five-decade breast cancer survivor.
