He was predeceased by: his parents, Othel Dale and Daniel Dale; and his wife Sandra Draffen (Sandy). He is survived by: his friend Janet Rorbacher; his daughter Elizabeth Masters (Michael); his grandsons, Colin Dexter (Olivia) and Deven Dexter; his great grandchildren, Nathan Knight and Susan Dexter; and his brothers-in-law, Charles Draffen (Mary Ann) and Lonnie (Erma).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of James, to the Gary Sinise Foundation or the Cascades Humane Society in Jackson, Michigan.
