We bid farewell to John Gerald VanSumeren of Jackson, Michigan, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 18, 2025 at the age of 65. John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, James VanSumeren and Grace VanSumeren; and his siblings, Tom, Jim and Terry.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kelsey Dwyer-VanSumeren and Lindsay VanSumeren; his siblings, Ron VanSumeren (Marian), Anne Gray, Jeanne Hatt (Gordy), Diane Bingman, Kathy Gardner (Dave) and Amy VanWagoner (Randy); his aunt Penny Schmidt; his pet Gracie; and his close friend Mike Schonard. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
