He was predeceased by: his parents, Lon Hammond and Edna Hammond (Rooks); his son Eddie Hammond; and his siblings, John Hammond, Calvin Hammond, Charlie Hammond, Janie McCumbee and Martha Bullard.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Hammond (Grindall); his daughter Stacey Hammond; his grandson Evan Hampton; and his siblings, Jesse Hammond (Reba) of Paisley, FL., Alice Creech of Whiteville, NC., Helen Davis of Whiteville, NC. and Edna Lane of Laurinburg, NC.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
