He was predeceased by: his parents, Laura L. Brail and Max E. Brail; his father-in-law Henry Klaassen, Jr.; and his brother-in-law Kevin Klaassen. He is survived by: his wife Sue Brail (Klaassen); his daughter Amy Marsh; his brother Herbert Brail (Chris); his mother-in-law Claryce Klaassen; and his sisters-in-law, Sally Nichols (Steven), Linda Gubhaju (Santa) and Renee Klaassen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his honor can be made to the Maxwell and Lucille Brail Scholarship Fund through the Jackson College Foundation, or to the Cascades Humane Society of Jackson County.
