He was predeceased by: his parents, Milo Havens and Rhea Havens (Ward); his former wife Rosalyn Havens (Klee); his daughter Luann Havens; and his sons-in-law, Richard Golightly and Brian Freeman.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Havens; his children, Sherry Golightly, Laurie Freeman and Michael Havens; his grandchildren, Jessica, Nicole, Sara, Amanda, Jason (Becka) and Johnnie; his stepchildren, Shari (Joe), Harry "Bud" (Sheran) and Eric (Andrea); his grandchildren, Jennifer (Nick), Britney, Ashley (Matt), Eric Jr. (Carrie), Gregory (Lexi), Alan (Ashley) and Brandon; and his great grandchild Otis.
