He was predeceased by: his parents, Myles Frederick and Evelyn Marie McSweeney (Shoquist); his sister Eileen Willis; and his sister-in-law Karen McSweeney. He is survived by: his wife Kim Risner; his children, Dakota Risner (Heather) of Jackson, Kollyn Anders (Paige Miller) of Lansing, Tawny McSweeney (Jamie Myers) of Hudson, Nichole Gibbs-Risner of Ypsilanti and Chelsea Bell (Matt) of Grass Lake; his siblings, John McSweeney (Deb), Thomas McSweeney, Lynn Shoquist (Dave) and Katie McSweeney; and his grandchildren, Brogan, Brynn, Bristol, Aaniyah, Braylee, Oakley, Brezlynn, Spencer, Memphis and Amara. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 6th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Cole Funeral Chapel (214 E Middle St, Chelsea, MI 48118).
