He was predeceased by: his parents, William Mays and Julia Mays; his siblings, Oscar, Oliver, Junior, Joe, Robert, Jesse, Thurmal and Shirley; and his grandson Zachary.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Mays; and his children, Cindy Childs, Angie Thomas, Julie McGarry (Shawn), Joe Mays (Sara) and Chris Mays. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
