He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Calkins and Waunita Calkins (Kaufmann) of Lansing; and his sister Gwendolyn. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his daughters, Rebecca Calkins and Sara Green (Andy); and his sisters, Carolynne Spooner (Bill), Bernice Myrie (Neil) and Juanita Christine Calkins. He is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
