He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Rau; his children, Steven Rau, Rosemary Rau and Michael Rau; and his grandson Bradley Kregel.
He is survived by: his children, James (Lois Rau), Patsy (Kenneth Koole), Mary (Dave Kregel) and David (Norma Rau); his daughter-in-law Elaine Rau; and his siblings-in-law, Lorraine Rau, Milo and Dena DeWald. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins.
Contributions in memory of Alvin may be made to Hope Protestant Reformed Christian School, Covenant Christian High School, Heritage Christian School, or Adams Christian School.
