He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor DeMott and Ezra DeMott; his sister Judy (Herb Spencer); and his brother-in-law Fred Sweet. He is survived by: his wife Marcia DeMott; his children, Christie, Jason Smith, Richard Wierenga, Sara Rose, Michelle and Scott Plaggemeyer; his grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Logan Smith, Trevor Plaggemeyer, Kate Keegan, Samantha and Cody Ter Haar; his siblings, Richard, Linda DeMott, Dale, Bonnie DeMott, Cherí, Mark Rawson and Boní Sweet; and his children, Lisa and Todd. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or Bauer Community Fellowship.
