He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Idema and Margaret Idema; his wife Marge Idema; his siblings, Earl Idema (Wilma), Lloyd Idema (Irene), Robert Idema, Gordon Idema, Art Idema (Bonnie) and Marie Spyke (Joseph); and his siblings-in-law, Dave Van Kampen, Will Warners (Maryann) and Gord Warners (Judy).
He is survived by: his children, Edward W. (Stacy Idema), Sandy (Randy Langeveld), Dawn Basket and Randy (Becky Idema); his grandchildren, Mike Langeveld, Alisha Kingston (Charles), Lawrence Basket and Tristan Idema; his stepgrandchildren, Tyler Dreyer and Samie Kooiker (John); his great grandchild Charles Edward Kingston; and his sister Carol Van Kampen. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
