He is survived by: his wife Marian Piers (Helmholdt); his children, Jill Piers, Ira Socol and Sharon Dys (Bruce); his grandchildren, Whitney (Keone) and Spencer (Tara); his great grandchildren, Aiden, Parker and Sophia; and his siblings-in-law, Don Helmholdt, Floyd Helmholdt (Jane) and Carol Dykstra.
