She was predeceased by: her parents, John and Cornelia; and her sister Sandy De Ruiter. She is survived by: her son Jason De Ruiter; and her sisters, Rita (Russ Brandt) and Lou (Bob Stelma). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
