He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Robert Cogswell and Elsie "Isobel" Cogswell (Atkin); his uncle Peter Atkin; and his son-in-law Scott Balfoort. He is survived by: his children, Scott Cogswell (Amy), Christina Balfoort, Theresa Loew (Aaron) and Marcy Spearow; his grandchildren, Taylor and Brayden Cogswell; his children, Samuel Balfoort, Brittany, Peyton, Knox Flowers, Greyson, Westyn Loew, Dez, Kayla and Ally Spearow; and his former wife Karen Cogswell Schaap.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the MKD Funeral Home (4145 Chicago Dr SW, Grandville, MI 49418). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
