He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Swiech (Frank) and Vincent Macklin; and his sister-in-law Karen Swiech. He is survived by: his wife Eleanor; his children, Michael Jr., Lea Swiech, Melody, Jeremy Penner, Tami and Ron James; his grandchildren, Chandra Pepper (Spencer), Austin Swiech (McKinley), Brady Swiech, Byron Penner (Catalina), Jaydon Penner (Ashlynn), Karsten Penner, Bethany James, Naomi James and Cameron James; and his siblings, Robert Swiech (Helene), Frank Swiech (Jan), Pat Elenbaas (Lee) and Holly Viening (Brian). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, November 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 30th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Jenison Bible Church (6360 14th Ave, Hudsonville, MI 49426).
