He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Karel and Florence Karel (Hoogewerf); his sister Marilyn (Karel); and his brother-in-law Rev. Henry Van Wyk. He is survived by: his wife Nettie Karel (VanderTill); his children, Pam Peters (Karel), Bob and Amy Karel (Peterson); his grandchildren, Brad Peters, Rebekah (Karel), Zach Groenendal, Jordan and Kenzie Karel (Kunst); his great grandchild Artie Peters; his sister Sherri (Karel); and his brother-in-law Neil Burmania. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
