The family announces the passing of Rodger DeVries of Jenison, Michigan on October 20, 2026. Rodger, born on November 7, 1937, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. Rodger will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Though Rodger is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Rodger’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his children, Denise (Ed Marcusse), Dale (Judy DeVries), Dawn (John Van Koevering), Duane (Lynda DeVries) and Don (Carol DeVries); and his sisters, Cheryl Van Regenmorter, Marva (Bob VanDyke) and Lora Nickelson. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (4145 Chicago Dr SW, Grandville, MI 49418). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel United Reformed Church (8360 Cottonwood Dr, Jenison, MI 49428).
