Marian J. Bortell Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marian J. Bortell of Jonesville, Michigan, who passed away on October 19, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Franklin Norris and Blanche Norris (Freed); her husband Roland Bortell; her son Russell Bortell; her great grandchild Rage Nardini; her sister Charlotte Decker; and her son-in-law Mike Briggs.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia Chapman (Michael), Denise Briggs and Valerie Neeb (Jeff); and her daughter-in-law Michelle Bortell of Battle Creek. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Jonesville Chapel (109 East St, Jonesville, MI 49250). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale County or the Jonesville United Methodist Church.
