He is survived by : his wife Lucinda (Thompson); his children, Nicholas Michalek (Jeanna) of Ellsworth, MI, Matthew Michalek (Rebecca) of Laingsburg, MI, Sarah Michalek of Lansing, MI and Elizabeth Michalek of Lansing, MI.; his grandchildren, Shelby Michalek and Sophia Michalek; his brothers, Monsignor George Michalek and Ronald Michalek; his siblings-in-law, Murray Thompson (Emelie), Mary Thompson and Marilee Schock; and his aunt Dorothy Ware (Sayles).
