He was predeceased by: his father Gerald Gates; and his siblings, Elsie Mae Gates, John Gates and Paul Gates. He is survived by: his mother Violet Gates (Homminga); his significant other Terry Cotes; his children, Katherine Minnis, Mandy Gates (Colin Germaine) and Larry Gates Jr. (Bobbi); his brothers, Gerald and Louis Gates; and his grandchildren, Jordan Gates, Tayler Minnis, Cameron Palmer and Elly Gates. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
