It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Phillip Goethals of Kalkaska, Michigan, born in Elberta, Michigan, who passed away on June 26, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Victor and Rose Goethals (Nellesen); and his brother Paul Goethals. He is survived by : his wife Jane (Lewis); his children, Scott Goethals (Ruth), Mark Goethals (Nicole) and Andrea Goethals (Harrison Tong); his grandchildren, Dan (Kristin), Todd (Melissa), Jonathan (Karen), Andrew, Allison, Cameron, Abby, Rachel, Felicia and Stephanie; and his brothers, Gerald, Stephen and James Goethals. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Kalkaska Area Interfaith Resources (KAIR) or the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy in honor of Phil's commitment to his community.
