He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril Jean and Sylvia Jean (Petterson); his son Christopher; and his siblings, Cyril Jean Jr. and Doris Space.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Broski; and his sons, Richard Jr. Jean (Cheryl), Paul Jean and Michael Jean (Jill). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
