Ann Knight Obituary
Ann, age 79 years, died Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at home with her family by her side. The daughter of the late Lester and Lois (Bateson) Staudacher, she was born January 29, 1946, in Bay City and grew up in the village of Kawkawlin.
In 1967, she married her high school sweetheart, Brian Knight, who predeceased her on September 29, 2025. Ann is survived by three children: Paul Knight and his wife Janet of Kawkawlin, Gail Woolhiser and her husband Michael of Bay City, and Sara Keefe and her husband Bret of Petoskey, as well as grandchildren Nicole (Joey) Kardynal, Gregory (Claire) Knight, Kellen Woolhiser, Benjamin Keefe, Charles Keefe, Daniel Keefe, and Shane Keefe; brothers Jon (Kathy) Staudacher and Mark (Penny) Staudacher; sisters-in-law Carole Knight and Laurie (Jerry) Habedank; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters-in-law Barbara Haske and Frances Brewster, brother-in-law Thomas Knight, and nephew Patrick Reagh.
Ann graduated from T. L. Handy High School, Michigan State University, and Delta College. She stayed home with her young children before applying her strong organizational and analytical skills to the emerging computer industry. She worked as a Senior Systems Analyst at Bay Medical Center until her retirement in 2001. Ann enjoyed traveling the world with friends and family, watching Michigan State sports, playing and teaching piano, and spending time with her grandchildren, of whom she was exceptionally proud. She set a beautiful table and often quipped that she would long be remembered for that. After retirement, she and Brian enjoyed twelve winters in Florida where they forged many special friendships. Those friendships, as well as many others through the years, were very important to both of them and brought richness to their lives.
Ann's family will receive family and friends at Rivertown Funeral Chapel, 209 S. Huron Road, Kawkawlin, on Sunday, October 26, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
As per Ann's request, there will be no memorial service. Those wishing to express their sympathies may consider donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Toni & Trish Hospice House in Bay County.
