Christopher J. Rogers Obituary

Christopher J. Rogers, a cherished soul and a beacon of love, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at the venerable age of 83. Born on September 28, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, Christopher's life was a testament to the values of hard work, dedication, and the importance of family.

The son of Frank and Mary Ann (Kolodziejski) Rogers, Chris grew up with a foundation of love that would become the cornerstone of his own family. He graduated from high school with a determination that would see him through a successful career and a fulfilling life. It was while working at Hudson's that he met the love of his life, Sharon Grauzer. Their love blossomed into a lifelong partnership, and they were married on December 28, 1963, at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church, embarking on a journey that would last 62 years.

Chris's work ethic was evident throughout his career as a pattern maker in Saginaw, Michigan. His skills were honed in several machine shops, where his intelligence and generosity were as much a part of his craft as his hands. He proudly served his country as a Navy cryptographer, a time that included being stationed in Turkey, an experience that broadened his view of the world and deepened his appreciation for his home.

He and Sharon were blessed with three sons, CJ (Juanita) Rogers of Cheboygan, Kevin (Tina) Rogers of New Baltimore, and Keith (Michele) Rogers of Standish. Christopher's love for his family was the very essence of his being, and he instilled in his children the values of love, intelligence, and generosity that he lived by every day. He was a devoted grandfather to Mitchell, Chad, Mattea, and Carter Rogers, as well as step-grandchildren Eric Labrosse and Brandon Neering, who will carry his legacy forward.

Though predeceased by his parents and sister Susan Clausen, Christopher's memory will be cherished by his surviving sister Carol Ewers and brother Larry Rogers. His numerous nieces and nephews will remember him as a loving uncle who always had time for family.

A man of faith, Christopher was a member of the Resurrection of the Lord Parish in Standish, Michigan, where he lived his Christian beliefs through actions and commitment to his community. His interests included gardening, mowing the grass, and woodcarving which included giving away many carvings with his favorite the "twisted Māori motif.". Hobbies that reflected his love for nature and the simple joys of life.

Chris was the embodiment of a life well-lived, a loving husband, an intelligent man, and a generous father and friend. His passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. As we say farewell to Christopher J. Rogers, we celebrate a life that was truly a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Per Chris's wishes cremation has taken place with a celebration of life to held at a later date.
