Connie A. Kleaver Obituary
Connie Ann KleaverKawkawlin, MichiganConnie Ann (Fahrner) Kleaver, age 78, passed from this temporary life to her eternal home with Jesus her Savior on June 5, 2026 in Kawkawlin, Michigan, surrounded by loved ones. Connie was born in 1947 to Lloyd and Mary Fahrner, she grew up in Bay City with her cherished siblings Bonnie, Ron, and Jim. She often spoke of Grandma Zins, who was special throughout her childhood and profoundly influenced her life with deep faith and prayer. Grandma Zins and her mother Mary led her to belief in Jesus at an early age. In her teen years, Connie gave birth to her daughter, Cindy, who was chosen to be adopted. After 30 years, they were able to reunite and create a unique family relationship throughout the remainder of her life.
Connie married Walter "Lee" Worthington in 1964 and raised her daughter Leeann and son Walter "Ty" Worthington in the Flint, Detroit, and Bay City areas. At that time, she worked several waitress jobs. They were married for 17 years. In 1985, she married Kurt Kleaver after they met at Bay Valley Resort and resided in Kawkawlin, MI. Together they raised their precious son, KC Kleaver. Connie was later a graduate of TL Handy high school and then Delta College in 1998. She proudly excelled as a technician in xray, phlebotomy, and MRI for 25 years working at Bay Med and Midland Hospital. Kurt and Connie enjoyed golf, cards, camping, travel, and later wintered in Avon Park, FL. with a community of wonderful friends and enjoyed attending Union Congregational Church in Avon Park. She also loved gardening, hostessing, cooking, and canning. Wherever she lived you could find family and friends, they always dropped by her home where she graciously welcomed everyone.
Connie was known for her wisdom, kindness, and faith. Her legacy of belief was passed to all her children and grandchildren. She was a loving, generous, and kind mother and Nana.
She is survived by her Husband of 40 years, Kurt Kleaver Children; Cindy (Timothy) Schutter Leeann Palmer, Walter "Ty" (Carol Ann) Worthington, and KC (Melanie) Kleaver.
Siblings; Bonnie Taylor and Ron (Sue Root) Fahrner; Inlaws; Kyle (Leslie) Kleaver and Kevin Kleaver. Grandchildren; Caleb (Amanda) Schutter, Bethany (Michael) Bremer, Rachel (Steven) Young, Ethan Schutter, Courtney (Will) Moore, Brandon Rutkowski, Brittney (Steven) Skrzypczynski, Chad Worthington, Keith Jr (McKenzie) Palmer, Kody (Amanda) Palmer, Keilee (Hayden) Clements, David (Sarah) Friesorger, Kira (SSG James) Whitfield, and Heather (pastor Scott) Cornish. And blessed with 25 great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. Also her beloved Florida friends. Connie was preceded in death by Parents; Lloyd and Mary Fahrner Brothers; James Fahrner, Sam Morley Inlaws; Butch Taylor, Kay Fahrner and Son-in-law; Keith Palmer.
Special thanks to caregivers Ron and Sue for loving on Connie, and to Covenant Hospice. The family will gather and greet relatives and friends at Bay Valley Christian Church, Bay City, MI. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, with visitation from 10am-12pm. Remembrance Service at 12pm with luncheon to follow.
