R. Craig FitchLinwood, Michigan R. Craig Fitch (nickname Lightning) of Crump, Michigan, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, at the age of 85 in his home. He was born on August 24, 1940. Beloved husband of Carolyn Fitch (nee Pajot); father of Chris, Cheri (husband Doug Bulla); grandfather of Jared (wife Sophia), Taylor, Peyton, and Luke Bulla. Survived by his sisters-in-law, along with many nieces and nephews. Preceding Craig in death were his parents, Grace and Merritt Fitch.
Craig and Carolyn met at Sears Roebuck. They married on August 31, 1963. August 31st marks the wedding anniversary of Carolyn's parents Helen & Tom Pajot as well as the wedding anniversary of Craig and Carolyn's daughter Cheri & her husband Doug.
Craig lost his father as a young boy being raised by his mother Grace. He was a graduate of Central High School and career long Repairman at Sears Roebuck and Co. Craig valued hard work and doing right by others. He cared deeply for the people in his life and found his greatest pride in his family.
Craig had a strong connection to northern Michigan and appreciated its straightforward way of life and natural beauty. He lived quietly but purposefully, leaving a lasting impression through consistency and dependability rather than words or fanfare.
Visitation will be held at Rivertown Funeral Home in Kawkawlin, Michigan on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 10am-12pm followed by a short service at 12pm. Craig will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. Those wishing to honor Craig's memory are encouraged to do so through Memorials to The American Heart Association or The Arc of Bay County Michigan.
