He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Johnson and Agnes Johnson (Clayton); his siblings, Judith VanRiper and Douglas Johnson; and his brothers-in-law, Merton Wishart and Jack VanRiper.
He is survived by: his wife Sara (Wishart); his daughters, Deanna Hodgson (John) and Kristin Vanderhorst; his grandchildren, Liam Hodgson (Caleb), Olivia Vanderhorst and Beckett Vanderhorst; and his sister-in-law Elona Johnson (Krivy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gephart Funeral Home (201 W Midland St, Bay City, MI 48706). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, any memorials be directed to the Toni and Trish House in Auburn, Good Samaritan Rescue Mission in Bay City, or the charity of your choice.
