Delores M. JeanLinwood, MichiganDelores Marie Jean, known lovingly to family and friends as Dee, passed away on June 29, 2026, in Kawkawlin, Michigan, at the age of 78. She was born on June 19, 1948, in Bay City, Michigan, and lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and a warm spirit that touched everyone who knew her.
Dee was a loving, friendly, and funny woman whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around her. She had a gift for making others feel welcome, and her gentle humor and caring nature left lasting impressions on her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing her path. She was deeply devoted to the people she loved and found her greatest happiness in time spent with them.
Family was the center of Dee's life. She shared a devoted marriage of 59 years with her husband, Dennis, and took great pride in her children, Denise (Thom) Jean-LaBelle, Dennis (Sherry) Jean, and bonus daughter Amy Gage. Her grandchildren, Stevie Jo (Jeff) Williams, Kyle (Kiana Boyce) Filcek, Timmy Joe (Jeffrey) Neitzel, Brandy Jo (Mitch) Thomas, and Brianna (Jacob) Maillette, brought her immeasurable joy. She also cherished her great-grandchildren, Brayden, Bayleigh-Rae, Carson, Henry, and Artemis, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Dee is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Mead and Michelle Perry, her brother, Michael Perry, and several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Maggie Perry, her in-laws, Geri (Dishaw) and Robert Meyer, a brother Patrick Perry, and her Chosen Daughter Lucinda Delano. Their memory remained part of her story, and she carried her family history with the same loyalty and love that she gave so freely to those around her.
Dee worked hard throughout her life and was proud of the roles she held in her community. She was the owner of 4D Video Store, where she welcomed customers with her familiar smile and steady dedication. She also worked at local schools, where her presence was appreciated and her work made a difference in the lives of many. Her strong work ethic and dependable nature were evident in everything she did.
Outside of work, Dee enjoyed a rich and meaningful life filled with simple pleasures and treasured hobbies. She loved baking and was known for the care and heart she put into the things she made. She enjoyed her Hobby Farm, which she affectionately called her Mini Zoo, and she had a special place in her heart for rescuing baby animals that were orphaned. Her compassion extended to every living thing she cared for, and she found purpose and joy in giving those animals a safe and loving home.
Dee also enjoyed watching movies, traveling, canning, fishing, and spending time at deer camp. These activities reflected her love of home, nature, and adventure, and they gave her many opportunities to create memories with the people she loved most. Above all, she treasured time with her family, and those moments will remain a lasting comfort to all who mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday July 7, 2026 at 11am at Rivertown Funeral Chapel with Pastor Karen Obran presiding with inurnment at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday 2pm till 8pm at Rivertown Funeral Chapel. On Tuesday from 10am till time of service.
