Dewayne A. Bentley Obituary

Dewayne A. Bentley was born on February 6, 1960, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, to Arthur and Sharon (Thompson) Bentley, and he passed away on May 20, 2026, at MyMichigan Gladwin.

Dewayne lived a life marked by kindness, thoughtfulness, and a steady devotion to the people around him. He was a man who was always willing to help a neighbor and care for his family, and those who knew him will remember the quiet strength and generous spirit he brought to everyday life. His presence was a comfort to many, and his memory will remain a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He graduated from Cherry Hill High School in Inkster, Michigan, where he was active in the school band and developed a lifelong love of music. Dewayne especially loved playing the trumpet and other bass instruments, and music remained an important part of his life. After high school, he was employed as a dispatcher for a trucking company in the Lincoln Park area before later moving to Gladwin. Through his work and his daily life, he showed responsibility, dedication, and a dependable nature that others came to appreciate.

Dewayne also found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. He loved being on the water fishing, spending time outdoors, and enjoying the beauty of nature. Whether he was listening to music, playing an instrument, or taking in the peace of the natural world, he found contentment in the moments that brought calm and connection. His interests reflected a man who valued both harmony and the world around him.

He is survived by his mother, Sharon Bentley; a niece, Tiffany Bentley; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur; his brother, David; and his grandparents, Wayne and Laura Thompson and Arthur Sr. and Mary Bentley. The love of his family remained an important part of his life, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Dewayne A. Bentley will be remembered as a kind and thoughtful man whose life touched many others in quiet but lasting ways. His willingness to help, his love of family, his appreciation for music, and his enjoyment of the outdoors all spoke to a life lived with sincerity and heart. Though he will be deeply missed, the legacy of his gentle spirit and caring nature will endure in the memories shared by family and friends.

Private graveside services will be held at Richmond Cemetery, Richmond Michigan. Arrangements are entrusted to Lee-Ramsay Funeral Chapel-Gladwin.
