Edward J. Casey Obituary
Edward "Joe" James Casey passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Bay Shores Hospice Center, surrounded by the love of his family.
Edward was born on May 21, 1939 in Mankato, MN to the late Joseph Thomas Casey & Charlotte Johanna (Bitter) Casey.
Edward "Joe" Casey married his sweetheart, Janice Marie (DeWyse) Casey on August 11, 1962, at St. Michael's Church in Pinconning, beginning a life together rooted in faith and deep love. Their marriage was a testament to lasting devotion, carrying them side by side through every joy and season of life.
After many years devoted to one another, there is comfort in knowing their time apart has come to an end and that they are together again in Heaven. Their connection remained strong even during their time apart, and they are now at peace, side by side once more.
Edward was a longtime member of St. Anne's Parish in Linwood before joining Corpus Christi Parish to attend weekly mass with his daughter. His faith was the foundation of his life, reflected in his active involvement in his church and Bible studies.
Edward had a special appreciation for life's simple pleasures—whether it was time spent on the golf course, in a deer blind hunting, cheering on the Detroit sports teams and the Michigan Wolverines, or simply being surrounded by those he loved. He took great pride in watching his grandchildren grow and flourish and found true happiness in supporting their passions—whether in sports, hobbies, or everyday accomplishments. Edward will be fondly remembered for his love of playing cards, a pastime that brought him great joy and laughter, especially during his weekly games with cherished friends at the Midland Senior Manor.
