Florence Mae Duncan Obituary

Florence Mae Duncan, passed away peacefully at her home on February 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 16, 1937, in Lake Orion, Michigan, to the late Glen and Audry (Quesenberry) Weeder, Florence's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and family.

In 1955, Florence married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) E. Duncan, and together they embarked on a journey that would span seven decades, filled with joy, challenges, and countless memories. Their union was blessed with a loving family, including their children Russell (Rusty) E. (Gayanne) Duncan, Linda K. (Duane) Mason, and son-in-law Joe Emery. Florence's legacy continued to flourish with her nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.

Florence's siblings, Glen Weeder, Roy Weeder, and Betty Combs, shared in the tapestry of her life, weaving bonds of sibling love and camaraderie. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert E. Duncan Jr., and daughter, Sheila M. Emery, whose memories remained a cherished part of her heart.

A proud graduate of Lake Orion High School, Florence's commitment to her community was evident through her many years serving as a lunch aid at the local schools. Her gentle presence and thoughtful nature made her a beloved figure among the students and staff alike.

Upon Bob's retirement, Florence and he relocated to their serene home on Secord Lake, where they reveled in the tranquility of the water and the beauty of nature. Florence's passion for her yard was evident in the meticulous care she took in tending to her garden, creating a welcoming oasis for family gatherings and the laughter of grandchildren.

Florence's interests extended beyond her home, as she was an active participant in her community, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her kindness and thoughtfulness were the hallmarks of her character, traits that endeared to her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Honoring Florence's wishes, no services will be held at this time with inurnment at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later day.
