Hazel Betty Campbell Obituary

Hazel Betty Campbell, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 18, 1946, in Bay City, Michigan, Hazel was the cherished daughter of the late Robert and Hazel (Dowd) Preston. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Hazel's life was a testament to the power of nurturing and unconditional love. As a proud homemaker, she not only raised her own children but also extended her care to many of the neighborhood's children, earning her the affectionate title of the community's second mom. Her children, Lawrence (Connie) Jasman, Craig Jasman, and Andy (Anita) Jasman, remember her as the cornerstone of their lives, instilling in them the values of kindness and compassion that she embodied every day. Hazel's legacy continues through her several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye. She delighted in their achievements and milestones, always there to offer support, wisdom, and, most importantly, her famous homemade cookies. Her love knew no bounds, and her guidance was a gentle force that will continue to steer them through life.

She was the beloved sister to Don, Dale, Jimmy, Paul, Joy, Maxine, and Mary, and a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. Hazel's family was her pride and joy, and she nurtured their bonds with the same dedication and warmth that she gave to her own children. Her siblings will miss her laughter, her sage advice, and the comfort that came from her presence. Hazel was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry, her dear daughter Tina Jasman, and three brothers, Lawrence, Robert and Richard. The void left by their absence was filled with memories of happier times, which Hazel held close to her heart. Hazel's interests were as nurturing as her spirit. She found solace and joy in crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that she lovingly gifted to family and friends. Her connection to nature was evident in her love for the outdoors, where she found peace and rejuvenation. Above all, Hazel adored her family, and her grandchildren were her greatest treasure.

A Private burial has taken place at Evergreen Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Standish Chapel.
