James J. Bruzewski Obituary
Jim Bruzewski owner and founder of Jim's Farm Equipment and Jims Tree Farm has peacefully passed away on July 27th 2026 at the home that he built with his family at his side at the age of 89.
The son of the late Edwin and Sophie (Zboralski) Bruzewski, James Bruzewski was born January, 1937 in Beaver Michigan. He was a lifetime member of St. Valentine Church and had a strong Catholic faith.
Jim was a kind generous person to his family and friends and caretaker to many that needed him. (unless he was at an auction or selling something, then he was a business man with a whole different nickname).
Jim attended Ox-bow School as a child and graduated from St. Stans High school in 1955. He was a longstanding member of The Knights of Columbus. He enlisted himself in the U.S. Army in 1956 and served as a military police officer. Jim worked at Dow Chemical for 38 years as a pipefitter and welder until he retired. Jim owned and operated Jim's Farm Equipment and Jim's Tree Farm in Beaver MI.
He married his beautiful bride and was co-owner with, Elaine (Mentel) Bruzewski who predeceased him in 2005.
He loved and attended many polka dances, farm auctions, the casino, working, and enjoying time with family. We are honored to carry on all these traits that he passed on to us.
He is survived by his children Kevin Bruzewski, Cheryl Bruzewski (his favorite), and Nadine Bruzewski, also Steph Stevenson. His favorite Grandchildren Alexa (Colton) Murray, Carson (Dzudz) Bruzewski, Cayle Blazonczyk and Anya Blazonczyk. Blessed also to have his Great Grandaughter Lyla James Murray and will look down on his soon to be 2nd Grandbaby Murray this year.
Also survived by Brothers in laws Paul (Margie) Grzegorczyk and Richard (Linda). Mentel along with so many nieces and nephews, dance partner Delores, his buddy Riley and dear friends.
In addition to Jim's wife Elaine Bruzewski and his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Lorraine Bruzewski, Eleanore & Ambrose Grzegorczyk, Margie Grzegorczyk, and his mother and Father- in- Law Frank and Lillian (Hycki) Mentel.
Jims family would like to thank his special cousins that helped us out so much and kindness and love for our family and Uncle Jim.
And always believe that if he tells you a rooster can pull a train, you best be hooking him up.
Funeral Mass will be on Friday July 31, 2026 at 11 am at Prince of Peace - St. Anne Campus with Fr. Dale Orlik presiding with burial in St. Valentine's Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday at church from 930 am till time of mass.
