James Leonard Buhlman Obituary
James Leonard Buhlman, born on April 18, 1945, in West Branch, Michigan, passed away on September 25, 2026, at West Branch Villa in Michigan with his loving family by his side.
He was the son of the late Edward and Marie (Ehinger) Buhlman and grew up with the values of hard work, loyalty, and devotion to family that would guide him throughout his life.
James proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he completed two tours in the Vietnam War as a Seabee. His service reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment, and he carried that pride with him throughout his life. He retired from the Navy after 20 years of honorable service, having given much to his country through dedication, perseverance, and strength. His military service remained an important part of his identity, and he was respected for the sacrifices he made and the example he set.
James is survived by his son, Richard Buhlman and his wife Wendy, as well as four grandchildren, Reagan, Reese, Ava, and Elle Buhlman. He is also survived by his brothers, Jack Buhlman and his wife Diane, and Dale Buhlman and his wife Karen. His family was a source of great pride and comfort to him, and he valued the close bonds he shared with them throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacey Buhlman, and by his sisters, Shirley Wangler, Janet Buhlman, and Beverly Adams, as well as his brother, Todd Buhlman. Their memories remained close to his heart, and he carried their love with him through the years.
Per James wishes cremation has taken place; a burial will take place in the Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin Chapel.
