Karen Kendall Obituary
Karen Kendall, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 17, 2026, in Saginaw, Michigan, at the age of 83. Born on August 19, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, Karen's spirited nature and boundless energy were apparent from an early age. Her life was a testament to the joy and strength found in family, a value she held dear until her last moments.
Karen's legacy is carried on by her devoted children, Carrie Wenn (Brian Roe), Kelly Dixon, Michael Kendall, Susan and her husband Rollie Johnson, and John and his wife Christy Kendall. She was a cherished grandmother to fifteen grandchildren who adored her, and her love extended to her numerous great-grandchildren, as well as two great-great-grandchildren, whose lives were brightened by her presence. She is also survived by her sister, Char Tacey, sister-in-law, Joyce Gruber, and brother-in-law, Hank Gruber. Karen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn Kendall, and their son, Glenn Kendall III, who left this world too soon.
A woman of many passions, Karen's zest for life was evident in her love for cooking, which brought the family together around countless delicious meals and instilled in them the importance of tradition and togetherness. Her love for the great outdoors was shared through many family camping trips and fishing excursions, where laughter echoed through the trees and along the waterways. Karen was also known for her sharp wit and competitive spirit, especially during family poker games, where she often emerged victorious, much to the delight and chagrin of her opponents.
Karen's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of care and compassion. Her selfless nature was her hallmark, always placing the needs of others above her own. Her home was a haven of warmth and welcome, a place where friends and family knew they would be greeted with open arms and an open heart.
Funeral service will be on Saturday February 21, 2026 at 6pm at Rivertown Funeral Chapel with Yvette Chisholm presiding. Visitation will be on Saturday for 3pm till time of service.
