Mark A. Lachcik Sr. Obituary
Mark A. Lachcik, Sr. passed away on April 8, 2026, at Medilodge of Sterling. He was born on May 18, 1959, in Lansing, Michigan, to the late Bernard and Bonna (Preadmore) Lachcik. Mark lived a life marked by kindness, friendliness, and a willingness to help others, and he will be remembered with love by all who knew him.
Mark attended Pinconning High School and carried the values of hard work and perseverance throughout his life. He spent many years working in the construction industry, where he developed the practical skills and dependable nature that so many admired in him. He later became the owner and operator of a small engine repair service, where his hands-on ability and steady work ethic served him well. Mark was the kind of man people could count on, and he took pride in doing a job right.
Mark enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and found happiness in time spent with family and friends. He loved riding his quad and side by side with those close to him, and he especially enjoyed bonfires, barbecues, and good music shared in the company of loved ones. He also looked forward to going to Sucker Festival at Omer, where he made memories and enjoyed the fellowship of those around him. His presence brought warmth and laughter to gatherings, and he treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by the people he cared about.
Family was the center of Mark's life, and he especially loved doing things with his grandchildren. He took great joy in watching them grow and in being part of their lives. His love for his family was steady and sincere, and he held a special place in his heart for the moments they shared together. Those memories will remain a lasting comfort to all who loved him.
Mark is survived by his sons, Mark A. Lachcik Jr. and Rhonda Baal, Chris B. Lachcik and Tiffanie, and Justin E. Lachcik and Reba Miller, as well as their mother, June Newport Lachcik. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Skylar, Mason, Lance, Eastyn, Austin, Ian, Shannen, Kayden, and Melody. He is also survived by his brothers Dennis, David, Tommy, Louie, and Timmy, along with many friends, nephews, and nieces who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers Brian and Eddie. Their memory remained an important part of his life, and he carried his family ties with pride and love. Mark's life was one of hard work, devotion, and genuine care for others, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him best.
Mark A. Lachcik will be remembered as a kind, friendly, and handy man who lived life in a way that reflected his strong spirit and caring heart. His legacy is found in the family he loved, the friendships he built, and the many moments of joy he shared with others. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Honoring Mark's wishes cremation has taken place with no services planned. Funeral arraignments have been entrusted to Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish.
